What is means for us to be Zero/Low Waste | Sampoorna Ahara - Healthy Food, Tasty Food

What is means for us to be Zero/Low Waste

As a small social enterprise, the one thing we were clear about right from the beginning was our commitment to being zero/low waste. We paid as much attention to our offerings being healthy as we did about how we packed them.

One of the major contributors to waste is packaging material which is mostly single-use disposable plastic/styrofoam material. We wanted to innovate and make sure that everything we send can either be reused or composted at home.

๐Ÿฑ With this in mind, when we were planning our meal & jar subscription offering, we decided on steel boxes & glass bottles respectively, which we could use rotationally. Even though this upped our costs significantly.

๐Ÿซ” We carefully chose compostable paper bags (without any plastic coating) for our breads, glass bottles for our sweets and snacks which could be reused by our customers at home

๐ŸŽ We found beautiful home compostable boxes for our one-time meal orders and our gift boxes

Over the last year-and-a-half, we have constantly found solutions that are Earth-friendly for our health-friendly offerings.

We are doing our bit as a small social enterprise and urge you to do yours.
